Additional Information:

This is a rare and highly collectible Firefighter's pin or badge.

The top portion depicts an antique fire engine with hoses and two silver enamel horns on either side of a fireman's hat shield that reads, Delegate Lowell Mass. Above the shield it says Sept 21-22-23.

The bottom portion is very decorative and detailed. Around the outside it says 31st Annual Convention Mass. State Firemen's Association. The center has crossed ladders with a red enamel shield that says 1910. Above the ladders is a scene of Pawtucket Falls.

There are four circular disks that represent different notable entities in Lowell, Massachusetts at the time.

  • Top: Factories of Lowell with the words, Art Is The Handmaid of Human Good - Lowell.


  • Right: Rubber Heel and on the heel states O'Sullivan's Safety Cushion Heel.


  • Bottom: Ayer Lion, shows the Ayer Lion that is the monument on the grave of Dr. James C. Ayer, famous for his patent medicine.


  • Left: Spinning Wheel, representative of the number of woolen mills in and around the Lowell area at the time.
The back says, The Whitehead & Hoag Co. Newark, N.J.
