Additional Information:
This book is the MORALS and DOGMA of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish
Rite of FREEMASONRY, prepared for the Supreme Council of the
Thirty-Third Degree (Mother Council of the World) for the Southern
Jurisdiction of the United States and published by its authority.
It contains the Lectures of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite in
that jurisdiction, and is specially intended to be read and studied by
the Brethren of that obedience, in connection with the Rituals of the
Degrees.
It is a very concise and practical volume. It contains two full
sections. The first is the Lodge of Perfection containing 861 pages and
the second is the Digest-Index of Morals and Dogma of Albert Pike 33rd
degree, containing 218 pages.
We have pictured the inside page, which features a nice engraving of
Albert Pike, Grand Commander 1859-1891.
Morals and Dogma was written in 1871 and the revised edition
copyrighted in 1950. This esoteric book was printed in 1966. This
volume has the original red cloth, with the Masonic double eagle symbol
stamped in gilt on the spine. Stamped in blind on the rear cover and in
gilt on the front cover is the House of the Temple.
This book has an inscription inside that reads; Presented to Mariposa
Masonic Lodge #24 F & AM by Bobby J. Rader P.M. (Past
Master)1970.
Until the late 1960s or early 1970s a copy of Morals & Dogma
was traditionally given to every new member of the Southern
Jurisdiction upon his receipt of the 14th degree of the Scottish Rite.
This book will make a great gift to any Mason or addition
to your Masonic
collection.
