Additional Information:
This book has anything and everything you would ever want to know about
the six gun or revolver.
Even though this book has a 1955 copyright date along with the 1961
copyright date, we are not positive that the book was actually ever
published in 1955. We have not seen any copies nor have we found any
listed on the Internet. Based on that, this book may well be the First
Edition published, however it is considered a reprint.
It was written by Elmer Keith a leading authority on revolvers. The
front of the dust jacket states; "By
the innovative authority ... the history, selection, repair, care,
loading, and use of this historic frontiersman's friend - the one-hand
firearm.
The author documents in this invaluable reference work his lifetime
experiences and findings on this historic weapon. Elmer Keith, has been
recognized as one of the best known expert on guns worldwide. Included
are his reports on new developments in arms and ammunition with a
variety of splendid photographs on nearly every page documenting old
and rare guns along with current American models.
Included in his remarks are an abundance of topics and information
about marksmen with numerous illustrations of trick shooting, quick
draws, hip-shooting and police training. More than fifty years of
experience and experimentation in handguns with Indian fighters,
vigilantes and frontier lawmen makes Elmer Keith a specialist in his
field. As some have said, "Other
books have been written on the revolver ... other books will be
written-but Sixguns By Keith is and will remain the final authority."
