Antique W. Bohannan 070 Miniature Brass Locks

This is a great matched set of vintage little brass padlocks. Each one measures approximately 1 1/2" tall by and 1 1/8" wide by 5/16" thick. They are both marked on the shackle on one side W. BOHANNAN 070 and on the other side is BROOKLYN, NY. There is one key that opens both locks is marked W. Brohannan Brooklyn, N. Y. They work perfectly with the shackle springs opening when the key is operated.

The W. Bohannan Company was founded by Wilson Bohannan (1829 - 1896). The Bohannan Company made many different sizes in their locks. These may well be some of the smallest. These locks are the ideal size for a trunk or small case. We believe these date to circa 1880 to 1900. They have obviously been used over the last 100 years and have a few nicks and scratches but of course that does not effect the operation. They have darkened over the years and the patina adds a delightful touch to these old locks.

Please note that the differences in the color in our pictures comes from the fact that some of the pictures were taken with a flash. The true color is closest to the first picture. These would make a great addition to anyone's lock collection!
