Additional Information:
This set of wooden blocks was a child’s favorite dating from
about 1915. It appears that this set was never played with and is still
in the original box. They are Made in the U.S.A. and have rounded
corners and the box states they are harmless.
Each of the blocks measure approximately 1 3/4" square with a total of
thirty (30) blocks in the box. As you can see from our pictures, the
set is complete with none missing. They appear to be in excellent
condition with no chips, cracks or loss of paint noted.
The original box measures approximately 9" by 10 3/4" by 1 7/8" and is
also in excellent condition with no rips or torn corners.
Not only are there letters but there are also animals, people, numbers,
items and all sorts of things. They were made by The Embossing Co., in
Albany, N.Y.
The Embossing Company has a long history in the toy business. The
company was established in 1870 in Albany, New York by John, Charles
and Isaiah Hyatt.
"Toys That Teach" was their motto. They were the originator of the ABC
blocks. They also made checkers, dominoes, architectural and a variety
of other blocks which made up the majority to their company's toy and
game production.
If you like vintage antique toys this is the perfect set for you. All
of the blocks are in excellent condition.
This set is in such superb condition that it really should be in a
museum on display for all to see!
