This piece along with many others that can be found on our Jewelry
pages are from an estate in the Boston area. They were owned by an
elderly woman that passed away in 1977.
This is truly a unique pin. There is a lot going on here. The Mother
bird is watching over her nest that has three eggs, or pearls in this
case, in it. The nest is in a tree with bright green leaves. Very
stunning!
The leaves have green enamel and the bird also has enamel. The bird is
beautiful with pink wings that have a black stripe and white tips. The
bird's head is a black or onyx pear shaped rhinestone. The enamel does
has some chipping but well worth touching up.
The vintage era costume jewelry is back in vogue and now is an
opportune time to purchase a few pieces at very reasonable prices.
